BIking a beautiful path......

The morning dawned a bit rainy and foggy, so instead of hiking we decided to bike. The path runs along the base of the mountains, right next to the road, and its really nice. Jenny Lake to Moose is about 8 miles, and there is a nice visitor center there...a good place for a break and bathrooms!

where are the mountains?
a good day for a bike ride
great path
yes...we always like a good bike path!
especially with beautiful views
hello!
nice long pathway...goes to Jackson actually
The mountains were fogged in but eventually, it was like a new day! The sun was shining brightly. Too bad we both forgot to put on suntan lotion. I'll tell ya, the sun is wicked here with the altitude. Live and learn. We will not forget it again! Haha.

clouds are lifting a bit!
see, there are mountains here
The path is pretty flat, with just one hill, and it was a nice comfortable ride. We of course looked for the moose that is supposed to be "planted" under the Moose Visitor Center bridge, but we didn't see it. That's ok.
looking for "the" moose

While we were taking a little break at Moose Visitor Center, we overheard a ranger talking to another employee. The one asked "hey what's going on here today", at which our ears perked. We overheard them say that Joe Bidden was in town, and he flew in last night and was whisked away in a government car caravan. I'm not exactly Nancy Drew, but, as we were riding back to Jenny Lake, we saw the cars! And, we also spotted where he is staying...as there are so many rangers, cops, secret service, etc. that even I noticed! Well, hope he has a nice vacation...it really is beautiful here.

the "government vehicles"

We continued on our nice bike ride, which I might add goes uphill in spots. Gently though, and the scenery is so spectacular that you forget what you are doing...ahhahah.

a bit of a hill...ugh
The flowers are still blooming in spots, and we are still admiring them any chance we get. Its the little things! But seriously, those mountains are just stunning. Like a painting, even up close.

still enjoying the flowers
and the mountain view
isn't this great Susie?
fabulous ride!
We worked up an appetite, and decided we'd have our picnic lunch right at Jenny Lake. We pulled up a nice "table" on the beach and enjoyed the views as we ate our sandwiches.

even has chairs!
what a great "table" with a view
what a life!
On the way back "home", we took the little scenic drive near Jenny Lake Lodge that goes from North to South Jenny Lake. We stopped for some more views-just can't get enough.

admiring the mountains again at a scenic turnout
the clouds have lifted pretty much!
well, mostly!
In North Jenny Lake, on the scenic drive loop, there is a nice overlook that most people stop at. We also stopped to enjoy the view. We are planning on a few hikes in this area soon. What a different day from what we woke up to! That's how it is in the mountains. Just be prepared for anything and enjoy!!

hoping to hike soon
Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point are right in there
