We were so excited to realize we would be able to visit our friends Brenda and Bill, who have just recently moved to St. George, Utah. It was about a 2 hour ride from Vegas, and the drive through the canyon as we approached was just awesome. After a lovely lunch at the clubhouse, and a tour of the area, we headed out to explore some nearby parks. Brenda and Bill are quite the hosts....and we had an awesome time catching up on travels and new homes and such.
Our first stop was at a nearby park filled with awesome red rocks, and great views of St. George below. I forget the name of the park, but it is near the road and hard to miss. Very popular too! Almost everyone bee-lined it for the top of the nearest rock (except for guess who)? Tom took my camera up to capture the view. There was a little peek-a-boo hole in the rocks that we spotted .... so I actually did get to see some of the view.

The park was just a taste of the red rocks in the area compared to our next stop...Snow Canyon State Park. For more information, click
here and click on Snow Canyon. We did not have time for a hike, but we certainly enjoyed our tour through the park by car. What a beautiful little gem of a place. There are plenty of hikes to choose from, all levels too. I think Brenda and Bill will be spending a lot of time in this park exploring the hiking trails. Lucky!

Afterwards, we went to Tuacamn Amphitheatre, a gorgeous venue for concerts and musical performances, among other things. Unfortunately for us, there was construction going on near the stage so we could not see it. The venue is undergoing construction for a new restaurant as well. The views are gorgeous. We had fun acting like kids for a minute...who started that? Haha. For more information on Tuacamn Amphitheatre, click

On our way back to St. George, we admired the "circle" or "rotary", depending on which area of the country you are from. The bronze statues amid the rocks were great. Utah has many Mormon churches, and we passed one on the way back to the house. It was striking against the beautiful blue sky.
We really enjoyed our visit with Brenda and Bill, and the tour we took of the beautiful St. George area. The views were breathtaking....especially from their house:)
