From Waldport to Newport..........

We thoroughly enjoyed camping on the bay in Waldport, with our front row seat to the wildlife there. Sea otters, herons and others kept us smiling. We were wondering what all the barking was about, and Tom went to explore while I stayed back cleaning the RV. Always good when he leaves for a bit so I can clean quickly..hahahha. Anyway, he called me on the phone to tell me to get over to the tent camping area. What did he spot...not one, or two, but a LOT of sea lions hanging out on the sandbar at low tide. And most were barking! We were laughing at ourselves .... you could even see the sandbar from the camper, but we just never saw them. Bonus: a bald eagle with 3 young ones with her on the sand bar.

Before long, it was our travel day - up the coast to Newport. We stayed in an extra special super deluxe prime resort, in a campsite looking out over the ocean. What a TREAT!!! (It was ridiculously expensive, but so worth it-especially since we were celebrating a birthday)! The views out of our front window encompassed the Yaquina Lighthouse! We were perched high up above the ocean, but a trail led right down to the beach and we could walk for miles. It was such a lovely site-we never left the campground. EXCEPT to visit with RV friends Brenda and Bill! We were so happy that our timing was good and our paths crossed!

Brenda and Bill live very close to the campground we were staying in, and invited us to their lovely home. They live in a beautiful area with a great walking trail through forest and beach. Just beautiful!

We had such a great time enjoying the views while catching up. What a great trail in the neighborhood! Afterwards, we had a delicious seafood meal at Tidal Raves-a very popular restaurant right on the bay. Beautiful views. Delicious food. GREAT company! Afterwards, we stopped back at their house for the best pear tart I've ever had and continued sharing adventures and future hopes, dreams and plans. Hopefully, our trails cross again somewhere in this beautiful country!!
