Well....it was our last day in the Rocky Mountain National Park area, and
Tom we really wanted to see big horn sheep! I packed our lunches and off we went to park ourselves on a rock to scope out the area. Unsuccessfully, but still.....we had a great lunch break! Wonderful scenery! Awesome!!

looking for Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep |
 |
Are there about 10 folks behind us??? (YES!!) Funny...because we were sitting so quietly and out of the way, and then 2 cars worth of families jumped out and were climbing right where we were like we werent' even there, and they were loud, etc, for about 10 minutes, and then they all left. Parents and kids. Funny.... |

I'm looking for sheep too...really! |
Truth be told,
I we really wanted to see a bear...you know....from the car, not on a hiking trail. So I was a little disappointed too. We went back to our campground to begin our packing up process, laundry, etc. since we were leaving the next morning.
We really enjoyed our campsite, being right next to the river, and surrounded by mountains. It was just perfect for us. After dinner, we parked ourselves in front of the outdoor TV to watch the Olympics. We HAD been parking ourselves at the end of our camper where the river is to enjoy that stunning peace, but....the Olympics....swimming....my favorite! So we opted to sit by the TV. As dusk was ending, and it was starting to get pretty dark, we were so engrossed in the Women's 400 IM swimming event that we didn't hear the family yelling "bear!" Would you believe, as we sat there watching the Olympics, a giant bear walked right along the river (on the other bank)....an WE MISSED IT!! The family was so shaken up....they could not believe how big the bear was....and asked if they could come in our camper if the bear turned around! (But of course they could-all 6 of them!!) So, that's the story of our near "bear sighting"...but we missed it.

Traveling from Estes Park, we stopped in Pueblo, CO and Las Vegas, NM for one night each on our way to Albuquerque. If you have been following the blog, you know that we had an issue with our large slide-out. The parts needed to be ordered, and then, only one set came instead of two. They were out of stock and needed to make that part. Arg! So, we went up to Colorado to wait out the making and shipping of the part. And here we are again...in Albuquerque.....ready to have our coach repaired. (Oh, and for all you RV owners out there.....Winnebego offered to send the parts from a different manufacturer no charge, and the work would be covered by extended warranty....but there are only certain locations in the country with qualified technicians to put that particular part in. Thanks anyway Winnebego. Didn't really work out for us. Moral of the story, always contact the manufacturer of your rig if something goes wrong! They often will help you!!)

chilling out in Las Vegas....New Mexico that is! |
We hope to be leaving Albuquerque in a couple of days and then we will be heading East, on our way "home". Our incredible RV Journey is coming to an end soon!

back in Albuquerque.....preparing to bring our RV in for the "big repair" |

What can you do? We're good! Homeless tomorrow though- |
