Life in Tucson.............

Life in Tucson for us has been busy....in a good way. There are so many fun things to do without even leaving Rincon (our RV park). Yoga, beading, quilting, Brazilian embroidery....to name a few of the classes that I've thoroughly enjoyed. Tom has had lots of time to get more involved in some of his hobbies as well, and has been busy with his computer programming, building small electronic circuits, and fooling with the solar panel. Oh, and then there's swimming and bike riding and Holiday Concerts...right here. As wonderful as all that has been, even better have been the people and some of the special friends we've made during this month!

Tom is busy with his hobbies too!
biking the trail behind the campground
there's the center of Tucson up ahead
the bike trails are great here!
finally made lemon chicken!
lemon chicken, sweet potatoes and salad....yum!
ready fort the "sunset show" Susie?
a beauty!
as the radio says..."oh the weather outside is frightful"....NO...we are in southern Arizona :)
Last Sunday, I snagged a ticket to ride the minibus to Tucson's 4th Avenue Winter Street Festival. The weather couldn't have been any nicer, and I spent a beautiful afternoon wandering among the tents checking out the merchandise. I was mostly window-shopping. There is not a lot of room in the RV, so all purchases need to be wise choices! Tom was thrilled that I was going alone, I think, and had himself a little football-watching party all afternoon. Hahah.

ready for a fun football afternoon...Big screen TV, Chicken wings from Friday's, and a good book...ahahhaha
4th Ave St. Fair.....the area is pretty quirky
lots of interesting vendors
the largest street fair I've ever been to....4 blocks long!
an artsy town for sure
city parks are a work of art
The street vendors were lined up and down 4 city blocks and the people traffic seemed to flow in one direction only. If you wanted to go back to a specific tent, it was just easier to walk completely around the block again. I can tell you I did a lot of walking!

lots and lots of vendors here (and lots and lots of people!)
Lots of entertainment throughout the street festival too! I enjoyed the Mariachi band the most, maybe because it was near one of the food courts, and as I planted myself at a picnic table to eat a funnel cake, a really special treat, the band started up. It was great! I was going to bring back some of the funnel cake for Tom, but it disappeared! I think he would have enjoyed the barbecued beef more though!

Mariachi band at one of the food courts ...I may have been eating a funnel cake while watching them ; /
 very popular street musicians
huge fair
check out that beef barbecuing.....Tom...you are missing it!! (hahaha)
